My Day.
Hey. Heres a little bit of writing I found the other day from an english class I took a couple of years ago. This piece of writing chronicles a usual day at university circa December 2005.
I really must write a real diary.
Peace and Love.
My Day.
I woke up early on Wednesday morning, hit the alarm clock, and went back to sleep again. Ten minutes later I got up.
The day started with a change of clothes, breakfast, and the daily advent calendar chocolate. I then set off to college. I arrived a tiny bit late, but fortunately two of my classmates were ahead of me, allowing me to slip into class behind them as they entered the room, ha ha!
The first lesson of the day was contextual studies, probably the most boring lesson of the week, but I don’t mind it. At the moment we’re doing a project on modernism, which we had a trip to London about a few weeks ago. The lesson is usually split up into 2, spending half the time in our main room, and half in the library. The second half is usually better, because you can pretend to research things via the computer, while not actually doing much at all.
I make it through the day until lunchtime and the rather uneventful first half of the day draws to a close. What I was really looking forward to today was lunchtime.
My friend Craig and I had bought an air horn the previous day, and the plan was to let it off in the base room at lunchtime, grab everyone’s attention (while also making them jump for our amusement), and go to the pub for lunch.
Our plan had a fault however. As contextual studies had ended in the library instead of the main room, people were going in to town for food straight from there! They usually come back to the room after getting lunch, but everyone would already have lunch, wiping out the need for a pub lunch!
We decided to cancel the surprise pub lunch for another day, but still set off the crazy horn. After helping Dan move his car, everyone was back up in our room, and we set off the horn for our enjoyment. By that time lunch was nearly over and Neil, our teacher, had already come in to the room. The next lesson was packaging design, and today we were making… yes, a box.
We also tried out some plastic moulding down at the workshop, which took a while, and being one of the last on the machine, I finished at about 4 o’clock. I brought the box back to base room, said my goodbyes, and headed home.
Dinner was ready by the time I was back, because for some reason my mum always cooks dinner to be ready at about half past 4. I had soft food for dinner, because my brace, which had been fitted about 2 weeks previously, was still hurting! Maybe I’m just a big girl.
After dinner, I did some work, talked to people on msn, relaxed and generally wasted some time. Lost came on the TV at ten o’clock. I don’t usually watch much TV, but I do watch Lost. Definitely the best thing on television at the moment. Afterwards I stay up quite late, doing some brainstorming for a project. I can also stay up late because it’s my day off the next day, so I can have an extra long lay in! I brush my teeth (ow!) and go to bed. Goodnight.

Depressing fact: I still have braces.
